About the Role
The Environment Protection Adviser is accountable to the Principal Adviser Waste Regulation for ensuring compliance with the EP Act across the State. The key functions of the Circular Economy & Waste branch are Waste Regulation, Regulatory Strategy & Waste Policy, Waste Levy and Container Deposit Scheme & Product Stewardship.
The key focus area is with persons licenced, or in need of licensing, by the EPA in accordance with the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act).
The Environment Protection Adviser:
Is a key source of advice in relation to prescribed activities of environmental significance relating to the waste and resource recovery sector for the EPA. Provides high quality professional verbal and written communication to a range of stakeholders. Implements the relevant statutory requirements of the EP Act. About Us
The EPA is South Australia's independent environment protection regulator. The organisation works to protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the EP Act and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

Essential Qualifications
A degree in science, applied science, engineering or equivalent.
Remuneration
PO2 ($86,950 - $96,223 per annum) + 11% super to your choice of superfund.
Contract
Ongoing and full time (37.5 hours per week).
Special Conditions This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. A current National Police Clearance is essential. Must be able to become an Authorised Officer under the Environment Protection Act 1993. The incumbent will occasionally be required to travel to sites in country areas and interstate. The incumbent may be required to work out of hours and as the need arises. A current driver's licence is essential. Vaccinations required: Q Fever, Hepatitis A & B and Tetanus. Application Instructions
