Job Description The IT Environments and Deployments Lead Engineer is responsible for handling all Environment related activities (including build, test, and release infrastructure) for multiple projects which are implemented to production systems. This includes supporting and optimising all IT environments, both Cloud and On-premises, to support our Environments as a Service product. The role maintains higher environment uptime and availability, introduces greater automation, self-serve capabilities for Environment activities, and delivers reliable production releases. The IT Environments and Deployments Lead Engineer will be a proponent for good environment management and deployment practices. The candidate will have Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, DevOps Azure, Kubernetes, and SCRUM experience and/or certifications.

Your contributions will include: Drive continuous improvement in Environment management and Deployments capability ensuring it is always relevant and meets the needs of internal groups. Support projects by ensuring the environments used by the project teams are always operational and stable. Maintain high quality reliable environments. Create self-service environment activities and automate processes where possible. Support deployments from planning phases to actual go-live. Become the environments SME through quickly learning the systems in place. Ensure repeatable and consistent environments for applications with containers and reduce the overall cloud hosting costs. Support internal IT projects that deliver both strategic and operational improvement to the systems. Keep abreast of industry 'best practice' methods in Environment Management and deployments arena. The Successful Applicant Experience with technology environments and environment management. Experience in complex, large-team technical environments requiring prompt resolution and strategic actions. Demonstrated success in managing internal stakeholders. Experience in SDLC methodologies (Agile) and implementing quality processes. CI/CD Continuous Integration, Delivery and DevOps experience in Microsoft Technologies, Azure DevOps. Experience with MS Azure Platform and RESTful APIs. Knowledge of C# and .Net Framework, Strong PowerShell scripting. Experience in deploying PaaS solutions, APIs. Some experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to Azure. Some experience with Container technology like Docker, Kubernetes, AKS. Automation for build and release management - automate and streamline operations and processes. Release Management utilising Azure DevOps/VSTS mandatory Configuration management automation. Proven experience in build management and automation on multiple platforms Windows, Unix (Solaris and Linux). Excellent Scripting Skills (PowerShell, Shell and Python). Solid commercial understanding and awareness. Experience with monitoring tools and tuning monitoring and alerting to minimise disruptions and be confident of service delivery.
