The Opportunity:  The Environment Manager will provide significant input on Port of Newcastle's environmental management issues. They will lead the environment program to achieve thoughtful and appropriate environmental outcomes enabling PON to meet the needs of future generations and continue its journey of diversification.
 Your main responsibilities will include:
Development, implementation and management of all environmental compliance programs and plans Providing accurate, commercially, astute, and timely advice on environmental issues Coordinating and leading internal and external audits Developing detailed implementation plans for the environment strategy Maintaining effective relationships with PON's partners, government and port user stakeholders What you will bring:  To be effective in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in engineering, science or a relevant area. You will possess previous experience working with contaminated land and asbestos management, as well as experience in the development and implementation of policy, procedures and management systems. Prior involvement in managing project consultants and dealing with regulatory agencies is essential. 
Your strong customer focus, and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial. Your excellent communication skills, ability to build rapport and manage diverse stakeholders will aid you in your success. Knowledge of port operations and port development is advantageous.
