Azure Minerals is developing the world-class Andover lithium deposits located in the West Pilbara region of Western Australia. Azure is a wholly owned subsidiary of SH Mining Pty Ltd, a company jointly owned by SQM Australia and Hancock Prospecting - undertaking an accelerated growth strategy to rapidly advance the globally significant Andover Project. An intensive exploration and resource delineation drilling program has been underway since early 2023 and development studies are advancing.
We are now looking for a site-based Environment and Heritage Advisor to join our team on a 2:2 FIFO roster. Reporting to the Senior Site Executive manager, the Environment and Heritage Advisor will play a pivotal role in delivering daily operational environment and heritage management support to ensure the sustainable and compliant operation of the project site.
The Role: Identify environment and heritage risks and hazards and implement controls to avoid and minimise impacts.Undertake periodic (weekly, monthly) inspections and audits of risk management controls.Investigate and close out environment and heritage incidents including identifying and implementing mitigative and remedial measures.Contribute to the development of site environment and heritage processes, procedures, and work instructions.Conduct or contribute to EMS and HMS audits.Identify areas for continuous improvement. Implement Environment and heritage monitoring programs (surface water, groundwater, air quality (dust deposition).Co-ordination and implementation of site Environment rehabilitation programs.Contribute to the development and delivery of training and awareness programs, including waste management and prevention of pollution.Contribute to the preparation of environment and heritage compliance reports (Part V, Part IV, NGERS and NPI).Provide onsite support with Heritage Surveys and co-ordination of Traditional Owner Monitors.Deliver training and awareness programs on environment and heritage values, risks, and controls.Daily environment and heritage management activities, including site inspections, walk arounds and general interactions with Azure employees and contractors.Requirements: At least 3 years' experience as an Environment & Heritage Advisor in the mining industry or in a similar role within the resources sector.Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Management or similar.Experience in the delivery of site-based monitoring programs (e.g. surface, groundwater, and air quality).Passion for coordinating heritage surveys and liaising with Aboriginal Traditional Owner groups.Experience in conducting environment and heritage inspections and audits.Excellent interpersonal and open communication skills.What you can expect: Great management starts from the top down, we are inclusive and respectful and allow people the autonomy to do what they do best.
