As the Environment and Climate Change Project Officer, you will be responsible for developing, delivering and monitoring the implementation of Council's environment and climate action policies, strategies and programs.
What a typical day will look like; Build awareness and capacity of teams across the organisation to contribute to the implementation of the Climate Action Plan 2022-2032; facilitating the development of an annual Implementation Plan; and ongoing evaluation and reporting.Develop and implement projects, programs, research, grants, education, communications and events that deliver on Council environment and sustainability priorities, in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.Support the Coordinator in evaluating, developing and delivering on other Council strategies and policies, including the Biodiversity Strategy and Urban Tree Canopy Strategy; and aspects of the Council Plan, Green Wedge Management Plan, Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan and others.Facilitate a collaborative and adaptive approach to environment and sustainability communications, education and engagement.Act as an integral member of the department and provide collaborative support to other team members.What you will bring to the role; Tertiary qualification in environmental sustainability or related fields; and/or demonstrated relevant experience.Valid Victorian Drivers LicenceStrategy/action plan development, research, evaluation and strategic thinking skills.Excellent writing skills, including writing for different audiences, and ability to communicate complex information in plain English to suit a wide range of communications channels.Strong community and stakeholder engagement skills and facilitation skills.Why should you join us?
