The Company Our client is one of Australia's leading diversified energy infrastructure businesses across gas and renewable assets.
As an organisation, they are located in all mainland Australian capital cities, as well as regional centres and towns scattered across the thousands of kilometres of infrastructure that they manage and operate.
The Role Reporting to the National Environment Lead, you will be supporting day to day compliance of asset, operations and construction environmental obligations, the delivery of the company's environmental initiatives and the National Environment strategy at a regional level.
Key Responsibilities: Supporting operations and facilitating an environmentally compliant approach to business activities within the region of responsibility (Qld and NT) Providing expert knowledge to facilitate risk control and promote a positive environmental culture within the business and region Providing advice and support to key internal stakeholders regarding environmental requirements, risks and management measures Coordinating and facilitating environmental risk assessments, environment and cultural heritage approvals for new assets and projects, and the preparation of Environment Management Plans and Cultural Heritage Management Plans for assets and activities within the region Facilitating, coordinating and delivering technical environmental reporting obligations within the jurisdiction Supporting the regional Environment Lead and Manager Environment and Heritage in delivering national reporting obligations Facilitating and supporting engagement with key jurisdictional environmental regulators to advocate the company's position on environmental matters as required Supporting the broader National Environment team to take the company beyond compliance and adopt best practice environmental performance
About You Tertiary qualifications in environmental science / engineering / management or equivalent (essential).
Experience in Gas, Linear Infrastructure, Energy, Mining or other heavy industries (preferred) Working knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO14001) Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (preferred) Sound knowledge and interpretation of environmental law and environmental regulatory frameworks Knowledge and experience in executing environment activities for mid-large size organisations Accountability, Safety & Sustainability, Big picture thinking, Customer Focus, Continuous Improvement & Innovation
