We have a fixed-term opportunity for an Advisor – Environment role.
This role will undertake or organise environmental impact assessments including due consideration of environmental, stakeholder, social issues and, where appropriate, economic, corporate image and operability factors.
This role will be based in our Leederville office and will initially report to the Team Leader - Approvals & Delivery.
This role involves both office and field-based work, so flexibility is required to meet project needs.
What the role will involveUndertake or organise environmental impact assessments including due consideration of environmental, stakeholder, social issues and, where appropriate, economic, corporate image and operability factors.Provide advice, guidance and support regarding State and Commonwealth project/scheme referral processes, e.g.
Environmental Protection Act 1986 (Parts IV and V), Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, to facilitate timely assessment planning and activities consistent with project schedules.Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to obtain relevant and practicable environmental approvals.Develop basic approvals strategies and obtain statutory approvals under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and other relevant legislation where required.Key skills and experienceYou will be degree qualified in environmental science or a similar discipline and have:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of relevant State and Commonwealth statutes associated with environmental impact assessment, approvals, and management in the water industry.Proven skills in developing relationships with external stakeholders including government agencies, community, and interest groups to facilitate effective environmental management outcomes.Demonstrated understanding of water utility service delivery and operations and the delivery of projects in this environment.Competent use of computer-based applications, e.g.
