Roster: 8 Days on, 6 Days Off, FIFO from Perth The Environment Advisor is responsible for undertaking site based environmental monitoring and management activities to ensure Fortescue's Pilbara sites operate in accordance with relevant environmental approvals and legislation. We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual provide guidance and support to site based operational personnel in all areas of environmental management through the delivery of training and awareness packages, undertaking workplace inspections and through general guidance and advise to ensure the business operates in an environmentally responsible manner. We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual provide guidance and support to site based operational personnel in all areas of environmental management through the delivery of training and awareness packages, undertaking workplace inspections and through general guidance and advise to ensure the business operates in an environmentally responsible manner. Key Responsibilities Conduct field-based environmental monitoring activities, including sampling of surface water, groundwater, dust, and soil. Analyse monitoring data for compliance against trigger levels and long-term trends. Perform internal compliance verifications to ensure adherence to environmental approval requirements. Assist in incident investigations and implement corrective actions as necessary. Prepare annual statutory environmental compliance reports. Monitor disturbance levels against approval limits and assess proposed clearing activities for compliance. Deliver quarterly environmental communication packages and key messages to site personnel. Provide guidance and advice to site-based personnel on environmental practices. Conduct internal workplace inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. Embrace innovation and technology for safer work practices, such as telemetry and drone technology. Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements to achieve environmental excellence. Qualifications and Experience Significant demonstrable experience in the resource sector, with a focus on environmental management. Experience in dust monitoring within the port / rail sector will be highly regarded. Extensive knowledge of relevant state and federal environmental legislation and its application in the resource sector. Understanding of Environment Management Systems (EMS) and their implementation. Degree qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate complex concepts clearly. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are completed efficiently.
