We recognise our activities have an environmental footprint and seek to avoid or minimise adverse environmental impacts to the natural environment in the regions we operate by integrating environmental management into our activities, including the design, construction, operation and decommissioning of our facilities.Duties & Responsibilities:At Woodside, our growth strategy depends on obtaining and maintaining our social licence to operate.
Given this and the growing pressure on our natural environment, the environmental performance and the management of our environmental impacts and risks is critical to the future success of our business.Contributing to this growth strategy, Woodside is seeking interest from qualified environmental professionals to fill roles across our New Energy and Hydrocarbon Project and Operational activities.
On a day-to-day basis you may:Provide analysis and advice on the impact of environmental regulatory developments to the business.Develop and implement environmental approval strategies to effectively support New Energy (i.e.
opportunities in hydrogen, ammonia, carbon sequestration, renewable energy and offset projects) and Hydrocarbon Project and Operational activities including seismic, drilling, construction, operations, commissioning and decommissioning.Coordinate environmental baseline and technical studies to support Project environmental risk/impact assessments.Undertake assessment of environmental risk factors associated with Project and Operational activities, including physical disturbance, air and GHG emissions, noise, light, chemical discharges, produced water and invasive species to ensure they are reduced to ALARP.Engage with environmental regulatory authorities to progress environmental risk/impact assessments and approvals.Provide technical expertise for stakeholder engagement associated with environmental risk/impact of Project and Operational activities.Coordinate environmental compliance with our activities including preparation of associated regulatory compliance reports.Management of Environmental consultants assisting the delivery of approvals.Coordinate field and desktop environmental monitoring and compliance activities including analysis and reporting.Coordinate environment input into key Project and Operational deliverables.Provide environmental awareness training to staff and contractors.Contribute to the ongoing improvement of environment support to Projects and Operational assets through the development of our management system and sharing of lessons learnt.Skills & Experience:Degree qualified in Physical Sciences, Engineering, Risk Management or other relevant area with 3-10 years experience.A perspective and understanding of New Energy and/or oil and gas projects and operations with the following knowledge and experience;Understanding and experience with Australian environment legislation and applicationStrong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, ability to foster strong working relationshipsIndependent and self-motivated worker, demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.Experience in environmental impact assessment for terrestrial and/or marine projects.Experience with undertaking audits, inspections and working with data.If you think you can do this job but don't meet all the criteria, that's OK!
