We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Environmental, Social and Governance team as an Enterprise Risk Management Specialist on a permanent full-time basis based in either Perth or Geraldton.

Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) provides an essential service, connecting regional Australia to national and international markets as a specialist port catering to boutique and diverse operations. MWPA operates seven (7) commercial berths and critical marine and land assets which enables the facilitation of trade for the Mid West region, exporting a variety of products including iron ore, grains, mineral sands, non-mineral sands and mineral concentrates. The Port also imports fuel, fertiliser and break bulk cargo. The Port of Geraldton also encompasses the Geraldton Fishing Boat Harbour (FBH), home to Geraldton's fishing industry. The FBH provides significant opportunities for further development of the Port and activation of a thriving commercial and leisure industry hub.

About the Role Reporting directly to the Chief Environmental, Social and Governance Officer (CESGO), the Enterprise Risk Management Specialist is responsible for leading collaborative organisation-wide processes that ensures a proactive risk management culture exists that identifies and controls business and operational risks, and realises opportunities, to control and mitigate potential adverse impacts to MWPA's sustainability.
This position is responsible for supporting, overseeing, and championing the governance and compliance of MWPA's Risk Management Framework, working with all departments, at all levels of the organisation, to ensure the Framework is effectively implemented, continuously reviewed, updated, and communicated to MWPA Workers.
About You Key Qualifications and experience (Selection Criteria items to be addressed in Covering Letter):
· Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a closely related field.
· Minimum of three years of experience in risk management, compliance, assurance role or a closely related field.
· Extensive experience as an Enterprise Risk management Specialist, and knowledge of contemporary risk management and governance principles and practice and their practical application, in a strategic, commercial, and operational context, within a large infrastructure driven business.
· High level of conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, particularly in relation to the identification and evaluation of financial, commercial, and operational information and in using this information to proactively provide advice to senior management to enable them to make risk-based business decisions.
· High level of experience in developing, implementing, maintaining, and the continuous review and enhancement, of a risk-based management strategy and governance framework consistent with promoting accountability, and a commercially centric culture.
· Demonstrable ability to assess critical risks to develop risk control and mitigation strategies.

Eligibility to Apply:  Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent/fixed term positions in the public sector.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the advertised vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout MWPA. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
