Perseus Mining is a growing West African gold producer, developer, and explorer. The Perseus Group operates three gold mines, the Edikan Gold Mine in Ghana, and the Sissingué and Yaouré Gold Mines in Côte d'Ivoire. The Perseus Group also has a development project in Tanzania as well as exploration projects in Côte d'Ivoire and Sudan and is continuing to explore other African regions.

About the role:
Reporting to the Group Risk Manager, you will work closely with various stakeholders, including Risk and Process Owners, and General Managers. Your responsibilities will include updating and maintaining the Enterprise Risk Management framework, facilitating risk reviews, and documenting risks to ensure comprehensive risk management across all operations. By identifying, analysing, and mitigating risks, you will directly contribute to the company's operational efficiency, safety, and strategic objectives. As part of your role, you will also assist with crisis management, internal audits, and insurance management, ensuring quality outcomes that align with Perseus Mining's commitment to delivering sustainable returns and material benefits for all stakeholders. This position demands strong communication, analytical skills, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams, supporting Perseus Mining's mission and values.
In this role, you'll:
Document Enterprise Risk Management procedures and user guides and update the Enterprise Risk Management framework (policy, standard, and associated tools).
Facilitate quarterly risk reviews with General Managers of operating sites and bi-annual Risk Reviews with Process and Risk Owners across the group.
Document risks (Enterprise, Functional or Site level) into Risk Registers on behalf of Risk Owners; for their review and acceptance.
Maintain Perseus's Enterprise Risk Management platform and Enterprise Risk Register.
Compile quarterly Audit and Risk Committee Risk Management submissions.
Assist with managing external Consultants, overseeing co-source contracts and audit execution, ensuring quality outcomes and align audit plan with enterprise risks and manage resource allocation.
Ideally, you'll bring to the role:
Diploma or Degree in Risk Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in a risk management, or related field, within the mining or resource sector (essential).
A strong understanding of the ISO 3100 Risk Management Framework, mining operations, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
Proven ability to facilitate risk assessments and reviews, and to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a strong attention to detail.
Experience using risk management software and tools (desired).
Business Continuity Management (BCM) experience (advantageous)
