(Miss Betty Archdale, 6th Headmistress 1958 – 1970) Start Term 1 2025 |  Permanent Full time | Reports to Head of English At Abbotsleigh our English teachers play a crucial role in fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment where students develop a deep appreciation and love of literature.
This position starting in 2025 involves designing and delivering innovative lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles, and promote critical thinking and effective communication.
The teacher will assess student progress through various methods, provide constructive feedback, and adapt instructional strategies to meet individual needs.
The successful applicant will create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and a love for reading and writing, while also actively participating in professional development and contributing to the school's educational community The Duties Confidently knowledgeable and experienced in teaching English for Stages 4-6.
Deep understanding of effective pedagogical strategies for the English classroom, across various year levels Well-versed in NESA guidelines, with a strong grasp of the new curriculum and relevant standards Ability to integrate technology and contemporary resources to enhance learning and keep the curriculum relevant and engaging Why work at Abbotsleigh?
