Location ProfileHazel Glen College is located in the City of Whittlesea, one of Melbourne's fastest growing municipalities. The College commenced at the beginning of the 2014 school year with 143 students and has grown to a current size of 2,300 students and 250 staff.
The College structures include Kindergarten, Primary Years P-5, and Secondary Years 6-12. In 2025, the College will transition to a Primary P-6 and Secondary 7-12 model. Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies.
SC3 Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice.
SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and experience in establishing collaborative relationships.
SC5 Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values.
RoleThe classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges - range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on planning, preparation, and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs;Participating in parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings;Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the specified curriculum areas.
