As a Senior Tailings Engineer , you will support and contribute to the growth of the Worley dams and tailings business locally, regionally and globally from a base location in Perth and Brisbane.
The role will require the candidate to develop and engage with our customer base, work on a wide variety of tailings and water dams prospects and projects across a diverse range of customers and industry sectors – ranging from mining, renewables, hydrocarbons and infrastructure.

What you'll do We are looking for a Senior Tailings Engineer to join our Brisbane team.
The role responsibilities include: Hold personal safety and safe working practices as a key priority.
Deliver geotechnical and civil services for tailings and water dams opportunities on behalf of Worley Consulting, including strategy and concept studies, site investigation, design, construction supervision, operational requirements and customer advice.
Implement Worley's strategy of diversifying our client base and expanding our service offering.
Build and sustain strong and diverse client relationships both existing and new.
Deliver high quality technical work with strong commercial focus.
Plan, interpret, analyze and report upon geotechnical site investigations for water dams and tailings storage facilities.
Lead and participate in multi-disciplinary projects and project teams.
Liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants concerning the investigation, design, installation or construction and commissioning of assigned work.
Train and provide guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues.
What you'll have Relevant civil engineering, geotechnical engineering or engineering geological post graduate qualifications.
Preferred to also have Chartered Membership of Engineers Australia and local engineering registrations such as Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland or similar.
Previous experience in the design, construction and operation of tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps and water dams from concept to closure and also in delivering projects to current legislative requirements, accepted industry practice and Australian/global technical standards.
Compelling experience in business development.
Talent in building and managing robust, dynamic and creative teams.
An unrestricted Australian driver's license or valid international drivers licence, ability and desire to travel and work regionally and internationally, as requested.
Well-developed and diverse understanding and knowledge of multidisciplinary civil engineering, in the context of water dams and tailings storage facilities.
A strong and demonstrable background in all aspects of tailings geotechnical engineering, including familiarity with ANCOLD guidelines and GISTM.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong report writing capability in the English language and demonstrated ability to communicate with a high level of competence in reports and presentations to staff and clients.
The ability to work independently to deliver complete engineering solutions, as well as lead and be part of a multidisciplinary team when required.
Strong experience in dam safety reviews, risk assessment (ANCOLD), and dam safety upgrade investigation, design and implementation.
Previous experience in scoping, planning and executing site investigations, geotechnical analysis and interpretations, design and reporting for tailings projects as well as experienced in a consultancy environment, earthworks /construction supervision.
Preferred previous experience with commercial geotechnical software packages such as OpenGround, CPet, Cliq, gINT, Geostudio, RocScience, Plaxis and proficiency with the Microsoft Office software suite.
