The Engineering Technologist (Mechanical) is responsible for analysing and modifying new and existing engineering technologies and applying them in the testing and implementation of engineering projects. The annual salary for this job is $73,500 plus superannuation.Responsibilities:Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information between production and maintenance teams onsite to optimise machinery utilisation.Manage schedules and deadlines.Liaise with facilities services, suppliers, and tradespersons as required.Keep abreast with all organisational changes and business developments.Ensure the production team is supported to meet processing targets according to Balco work instructions.Assist in building relevant operating manuals for production machines and maintaining them to ensure they are up-to-date.Assist in developing a troubleshooting procedure list for production staff to address minor maintenance issues.Complete plant machinery and mobile vehicle checklists and conduct spot checks to ensure machinery is in good working order.As directed and in consultation with the Production Manager, produce a daily written shift report on downtime including:a. Cause of disruptionb. Maintenance conducted and who conducted the maintenancec. Duration of downtimed. Suggestions for how this can be prevented in the futuree. Provide this to the production manager for review and filing each dayf. Discuss the downtime reports at the pre-shift meeting for review as a proactive way of reducing downtime and increasing production numbersSubmit purchase order in line with procedure.If required, monitor contractors on site to ensure work is completed to the expected standard in a safe work environment.Participate in maintenance and production meetings.Participate in WHS meetings.Ensure the site is WHS and Work Safe compliant at all times. All required reporting and incident processes are followed at all times.Be willing to work flexible hours, manage time, and meet deadlines.Qualifications:Should hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.Must have at least one to two (1-2) years of relevant work experience.
