National Plastics and Rubber is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for managing engineering projects and providing customizable solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities: Implement and test innovative technologies, devising implementation strategies.Create and improve mechanical systems, optimizing engineering procedures.Conduct professional performance testing on mechanical software, evaluating and rectifying any faults.Enhance company processes and introduce cost-effective technologies.Offer custom-tailored solutions to meet client needs and expectations.Coordinate purchasing and procurement activities to support project requirements.Collaborate with team members to automate engineering processes.Actively engage in weekly meetings with managers.Ensure compliance with codes and company policies using technical manuals and directives.Analyse data and perform calculations for drawing preparation.Interpret supplier/manufacturer manuals.Develop specifications, engineering proposals, and other necessary documentation.Prepare inspection and testing plans and address technical queries.Assess specifications and Data Sheets.Install new or modified mechanical components for commercial equipment.Support in achieving project objectives through effective planning.Undertake various engineering tasks, including concept design, detailed analysis, and documentation preparation.Produce client reports on engineering services.Organize testing and maintenance of technologies to meet project requirements.Maintain routine technology maintenance based on technical reports.Ensure safe work practices and plant integrity in all engineering activities.Assess the impact of design changes on project schedules.Work with the Project Engineering Team on project studies and method statements.Implement QA/QC systems effectively.Oversee contractor quality compliance.Review project plans and identify production-aiding technologies.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology.Previous experience in managing engineering projects and providing client-focused solutions in the polyurethane industry - a must.Strong understanding of scientific and engineering principles.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in conducting power simulations and feasibility assessments.Proficiency in project management tools and software.Knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for career growth and development.Collaborative and innovative work environment.Access to cutting-edge technology and industry expertise.If you are a dynamic and results-driven Mechanical Engineering Technologist looking to make a difference in the industry, we invite you to join our team at National Rubber and Plastics.
