This person will report directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and perform various mechanical, testing and manufacturing support duties as specified below.
In the role of Cell Line Engineering Technologist, you will be joining a world-class Engineering team that is delivering innovative solutions to tough problems.
This role will support both customer and internal research and development projects.
This position is fully onsite and working from our Bluewater office location.
Currently, the working hours for this role are from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities include: Hands-on repair, maintenance, and calibration of equipment and instrumentation used in cell manufacturing and testing operationsDesigning and creating jigs and fixtures to ensure process consistency and safe use of equipmentDeveloping and carrying out test plans to improve understanding of manufacturing processes involved in lithium-ion cell manufacturing and reporting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholdersEvaluating, selecting and commissioning new equipmentModifying equipment to accommodate different product designs and to improve processesEvaluating the feasibility of new customer projects; determining whether our equipment and processes can be used as is, adapted or modified to meet the customer's needs.Writing and updating of standard operating proceduresTraining production workers in the correct procedures and use of equipmentDesigning product modifications to adapt to customer and internal requirementsOther duties as assignedYou are: Have completed a two-year mechanical engineering technology program or similarHave at least 5 years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining equipment and instrumentation in a laboratory or manufacturing environmentHave experience training employees in safe use and operation of electromechanical equipmentUnderstand the principles of machine design and operation, including familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuitsBe able to utilize engineering knowledge and experience in the troubleshooting and design of manufacturing processesHave experience with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD (or similar CAD software) and be able to create and understand engineering drawingsPossess keen attention to detailWork well as part of a team and individuallyBe able to follow safe practices and guidelinesBe able to wear a respirator in short spurtsBe adaptableA highly motivated self-starter who takes initiativeWell organized and invested in the detailsResourceful when it comes to solving problemsIntellectually curiousPassionate about continuous improvementA critical thinker able to manage complex informationInnovativeExtra awesome if you also have: Experience working with PLC programsPFMEA experienceSix Sigma, 5S and/or Lean Manufacturing experienceExperience in lithium-ion cell making in a research or manufacturing environmentExperience in the mechanical design of lithium-ion cells and how that relates to cell design plus equipment design and operationAt NOVONIX, we cherish the value that diversity brings and believe that it makes our teams stronger and better able to serve our industry.
