We are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician, either multi-skilled or mechanically biased to join our Launceston maintenance team in a shift based role.In this role, you will be working closely with your engineering colleagues, Operations, OEMs and vendors to develop and implement best practices and increase plant and asset reliability.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role is hands on and fast paced. 
You will be responsible for ensuring any tasks carried out are completed to the best possible standard and in accordance with current regulations and company policy on health and safety, quality, hygiene, housekeeping delivery and cost. 
Other key responsibilities include:
Ensuring all maintenance activity meets quality standards with respect to workmanship, processes and procedures in order to deliver plant quality targetsEnsuring that company procedures and effective controls are followed and implemented with respect to maintenance costs in order to deliver plant cost performance targetsWorking on preventative and breakdown maintenance and feeding back reportsEnsuring that any parts required are identified and sourced through the Engineering StoresCarrying out dynamic risk assessments on all maintenance tasks undertakenControlling stocks of materials and consumablesEnsuring you are familiar with all stop devices and procedures on any equipment in your chargeBeing aware of the joint responsibility to keep all factory areas up to agreed standards.
The shift pattern is 4 on and 4 off (2 x 12 hour day shifts followed by 2 x 12 hour night shifts).
What we would like our candidate to have:
Sound engineering experience working in a maintenance environment (mechanical knowledge is preferable)Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship with multi-skilled knowledgeComputer literate, and well versed in MS Excel and WordExperience with autonomous maintenance practicesThe ability to work well individually and within a small teamStrong fault finding skills and knowledgeGood communication skillsExperience of maintenance management systems (SAP) would be advantageousBenefits:
