Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and review development applications and engineering plans to ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and specifications.Conduct regular site inspections during construction at key stages and perform final assessments to ensure civil infrastructure meets required standards.Provide technical expertise and support to the Engineering Developments Lead and Manager of Engineering Services, assisting in special projects.Monitor infrastructure compliance through field surveillance and ensure alignment with design and safety standards throughout construction.Manage and coordinate service relocations, including obtaining quotations and ensuring compliance with 'Dial Before You Dig' procedures.Review and assess crossover and other minor development applications to ensure alignment with relevant standards and requirements.Coordinate with service authorities and contractors to guarantee proper reinstatement of Shire infrastructure, adhering to established guidelines.Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation for all development applications and associated communications in compliance with organisational standards.Oversee works by service authorities and contractors on Shire-managed land, ensuring compliance with specifications at all designated project milestones.Prepare detailed reports for the Technical Services Committee and Council, ensuring follow-up on recommendations and actions taken. Skills and experience: A recognised qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline (Diploma level or higher).Proven expertise in the evaluation and approval processes for subdivision and development applications, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.At least three years of professional experience in civil engineering design and construction, with a focus on practical, hands-on project management.Comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices involved in the design, construction, and ongoing maintenance of local government infrastructure.In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory frameworks, regulations, and policies (both local and national), including familiarity with Council's Planning Policies.Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with demonstrated capacity for:Advanced problem-solving and conflict resolution skills,Clear, concise, and user-friendly verbal and written communication tailored to diverse stakeholders.A current, valid 'C' class driver's license, with a demonstrated ability to manage site visits and field-related tasks.Apply below in strict confidence or call Harry Presdee on 0423 051 339 for a confidential conversation.
