Applications closing on 26 November 2024, 03:00 PMReference number VAC91-24Job Type: Full TimePackage: $86,537 to $96,155 per annum Superannuation up to 16.5%Based in the beautiful inner western suburbs of Perth, the Town of Cambridge has some of the best natural areas, open spaces, recreation, and sporting facilities in the state.Our mission is to maintain and enhance our very liveable suburbs, their streetscapes and character, and our vibrant activity centres through strategic, cost-effective management of resources and an enhanced community experience.The RoleThe Engineering Technical Officer supports the Traffic and Transport team with traffic flow, road safety, parking, and infrastructure enquiries by undertaking technical investigations, proposing solutions, and providing responses to customer enquiries.This diverse and challenging role is responsible for the technical review of crossover, verge, and development applications as well as Traffic Management Plans for roadworks and events being held in the Town.In collaboration with staff, the officer will address traffic enquiries and ensure engineering compliance, contributing to the smooth function of the Engineering Services team.Selection CriteriaThe successful candidate's core values will mirror the Town's values of Friendly and Helpful, Teamwork, Creativity, Integrity, and Respect, and be able to demonstrate the following:Previous experience in providing a range of traffic engineering services in a multi-disciplinary environment, ideally in local government.Ability to utilise various computer applications including MS Office and AutoCAD at an intermediate level.Sound communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain composure when interacting with internal and external customers.Ability to research and interpret technical plans, contractual documentation, policies, and procedures to provide support in the delivery of technical services and projects.Demonstrated ability to solve problems of a technical nature, organise and prioritise own workload to ensure service area outcomes, and maintain administration standards and expectations.Tertiary qualification (or significant progress towards) in Civil Engineering is desirable.Traffic Management Planning accreditation would be highly regarded but can be obtained following employment.Local Government experience relevant to the position would be highly regarded.Right to work in Australia (birth certificate, current passport, or current visa).Current 'C' Class Drivers License.Why work for Town of CambridgeUp to 16.5% Superannuation (employer contribution)Flexible working hours / flexi-days22 days annual leave per year10 days personal leaveHealth and Wellbeing programEmployee Assistance ProgramTraining and Development opportunitiesFree access to Bold Park AquaticFree car parkingQuarterly staff cultural awards13 weeks Long Service Leave after 10 years' service in Local Government.
