An Australian based business with global reach and our cloud platforms, standing at the forefront of innovation, a Renewable Energy SaaS company recently funded for growth, are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Lead.You'll be responsible for guiding an engineering team in the operation, development, and refinement of product. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll also collaborate closely with product management and project teams to deliver a well-integrated and effective solution.The Team Lead is:A technical leader. Lead the platform engineering team in designing, building and improving scalable cloud services. Help to expand on best practices and set the quality bar appropriately high.Outcome driven. Work with the team and wider group on timelines, resource allocation, and estimates to ensure efficient delivery of our amazing products.A mentor and coach. Foster a culture of continuous learning within the team, providing guidance and support to team members.Collaborative across the organisation. Work closely across disciplines from product, project, engineering, customer success and business development. Ensure seamless integration with other software components and third-party services.Experienced. Preferably of 10 years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally within a cloud SaaS environment.Educated. We're not obsessed with credentials, though a degree in computer science or engineering is desirable, to go with your graduation from the school of hard knocks.Who are we looking for?You are an engineer at heart, and passionate about leading people to achieve outcomes. You will thrive on working on IoT and cloud technology as well as fostering an engineering culture that celebrates being different and building great products.It is essential that you are familiar with lean fast-paced environments. Experience in businesses at that stage will be great, but pre-revenue or post-revenue, or a large SaaS business would be a great fit too. If people describe you as having customer focus, taking ownership, being biased for action and ever-curious, then we will achieve big things together.The tech bitsThere is a wide scope to sink your teeth into here – a web app, mobile app, telemetry pipelines, timeseries data stores, B2B APIs and an embedded Linux edge device. Supporting it all, set high standards for DevOps, track to high SLAs and of course Cyber Security is essential for this critical industry.Ways of workingHeadquartered 1 hour south of Sydney. You? Anywhere in Australia, the closer the better. Whilst some travel may be involved in this role, you are supported to work from wherever you are.Interested?Send through your application.
