About the role
We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Team Lead - DSA to join our Engineering team within the Asset and Operations division. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy's operational footprint. Reporting to the Manager Engineering – Distribution Systems Automation, Load Control and SCADA, the Engineering Team Lead is responsible for leading the relevant team which is accountable for the organisation's related assets, systems, data and applications.
The role is responsible for control of and data acquisition for field assets outside the zone substation fence such as reclosers and will work closely with the Engineering Team Lead – SCADA to ensure a great overall outcome for customers. This includes detailed analysis, design, planning, execution, implementation and technical evaluation for the relevant assets, systems, data and applications, including the identification, research and development of new criteria and applications of knowledge and procedures across the Energy Network.
The role will also require management responsibility for the evaluation, design programs of work, and validation of equipment and systems and managing the development of broad plans, budgets, and strategies within the Essential Energy Network.
About You
We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Team Lead - DSA with a robust technical background in a field relevant to this role. The ideal candidate should possess specialised analytical and technical knowledge essential for leading a team in the Energy Network environment. In addition, you will have:

Demonstrated experience in SCADA and/or Distribution Systems Automation.
Knowledge of communications protocols such as DNP3, and communications interfaces and network switches.
Familiarity with ADMS such as GE PowerOn.
Demonstrated experience in solving complex engineering issues, whether in planned or unplanned Energy Network projects and issues.
Proficiency in applying Workplace Health and Safety practices, policies, procedures, and programs to ensure unwavering compliance in all Energy Network projects and requirements.
Demonstrated competence in coordinating multiple electrical engineering activities during planned and unplanned events.
The ability to efficiently coordinate the development of insightful reports with recommendations for system efficiency enhancements.
Effective management skills for handling business unit tasks for yourself and others in a proactive manner, promoting the reputation and role of Essential Energy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing comprehensive documentation and effectively communicating work outcomes to relevant business areas responsible for implementation.

Required Qualifications

Degree of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent to satisfy graduate membership to the Institution of Engineers Australia
Drivers licence
WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Cert
Attainment and ongoing successful maintenance of all regulatory, industry and business required licences, authorisations and other such certificates deemed necessary for the role.

Level 3 Restricted Zone Substation access
Post graduate qualifications in engineering
Degree of Business Administration
