The Role We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Superintendent to lead the maintenance and capital engineering team within the Feed and Crush area of our client's factory in Northern Queensland. This role is critical to the efficient operation of the mill, with a primary focus on executing maintenance strategies, overseeing equipment servicing, and collaborating with asset management teams to optimise performance. As part of a highly skilled team, you will also be involved in long-term planning, project execution, and ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and safe manner.
Key Responsibilities Execute maintenance activities in line with asset strategy to ensure smooth operations. Lead teams in servicing, maintaining, and repairing equipment efficiently. Collaborate with Asset Management to develop long-term plans for operational efficiency. Forecast and schedule maintenance to minimise production disruptions. Work with the scheduler to create feasible work plans and ensure timely execution. Analyse data to identify improvements and boost equipment reliability. Review schedules regularly to ensure efficient task completion. Enhance asset management processes for continuous improvement. Collaborate with Reliability Engineers to develop long-term operational strategies. Assist in the selection, design, and commissioning of new equipment for optimal performance. Key Criteria Minimum of 5 years in a senior technical engineering role within a heavy industrial environment. Tertiary qualifications in engineering or equivalent practical experience. Strong commitment to safety values and practices. Proven leadership skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders. Highly structured and organised approach with excellent attention to detail. Experience in the sugar industry or heavy industry is highly preferred. Proficiency in SAP or similar systems is strongly advantageous.
