The purpose of this position is to lead and manage Engineering Services within Scylla ISS, under the Collins Class Submarine In Service Support (ISS) Contract - a Programme operating within the Naval Undersea Warfare business sector. The SCYLLA ISS Project delivers Planned Maintenance, Operational Support, Engineering Services and Logistics support of SCYLLA sonar capability for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). The SCYLLA ISS Engineering Services Manager is responsible for the delivery of SCYLLA Engineering Services conducted by a multi-disciplinary team.YOUR ROLEThe role is primarily located at Thales' Rockingham facility in Western Australia, with a secondary location on Commonwealth premises in HMAS Stirling WA as required. Your role purpose will be:Responsible for delivery of Engineering Services as outlined within the SCYLLA ISS Contract (Engineering Services Description)Manage SCYLLA Engineering Tasks and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). This includes review, update, status reporting and prioritisation;Conduct SCYLLA Engineering activities (eg ECPs, Deviations / Waivers, RFPAs) using CoA and Thales tools and processes.Assess and manage project engineering risk through the assigned risk management tool. Provide technical risk assessment to the Commonwealth for input into the enterprise risk register.Maintain safety in relation to the SCYLLA Product(s) being supported;Undertake local engineering investigations, commensurate with the priorities set by the Commonwealth.Create and maintain internal documentation and contractual deliverables following Commonwealth and Thales processes.Manage the performance / throughput of team members within the SCYLLA Engineering team.Identify opportunities for, and proactively promote / manage, continuous improvement within the SCYLLA Engineering teamMaintaining technical competencies to a sufficient level to maintain Senior Engineer Delegation.YOUR EXPERIENCETo be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:Engineering qualification in Mechanical / Electronic / Mechatronic or related discipline;Chartered Professional Engineers (CPEng) or equivalent to obtain CPEng;Experience relating to engineering support for in-service products / assets;Engineering Risk management and Defence Engineering Governance / Worthiness Requirements;WHS Legislation and applicability to Engineering Activities;People Leadership & Management Experience, in particular Engineering teams;Ability to communicate effectively at all levels;Defence Protected Network (DPN) & associated tools (e.g. Objective) experience desirableWE ENCOURAGE YOU TO APPLYAfter you have applied, you will receive an email acknowledging your application.
