About the role: As a Product Development Engineer, your role will assist in the delivery of new products to market and focus on rapid innovations. As part of the Sunshine R&D team, your role will provide technical advice for the adaptation and manufacturing of Company products. Specifically, you will: Design, engineer and validate new products using an array of hand calculations, spreadsheet tools and software such as FEA, and 2D/3D modelling Develop/review technical drawings to convey these designs Coordinate with suppliers to deliver prototypes Design, administer and document adequate tests to ensure the reliability of designs Facilitate the transition from prototypes to finished parts ready for production & develop documentation required for product release. Contribute to the development of FMEA's and risk assessments as part of the product development process Engage in peer reviews to ensure quality products are delivered to customers To be successful in the above duties, You will have: A relevant Mechanical, Chemical, Process or Mechatronics Engineering degree Sound knowledge in engineering principles, ideally R&D engineering Demonstrated ability to develop technical specifications and engineering designs and drawings (preferably AutoCad, and Inventor or Solidworks) Well-developed communication skills (both written and verbal) Experience in Industrial/Mineral Processing, Measuring and Monitoring technologies and/or Bulk Materials Handling Systems preferred What we offer: We believe that our people are the heart of our organisation.
