Are you passionate about inspiring and training the next generation of engineers? We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and dedicated VET Program Leader & On-Campus Lecturer to join the team at our West Perth Campus. The VET Program Leader is an on-campus, multi-disciplinary engineering lecturer who will play a pivotal role in the development, improvement, and maintenance of our VET academic programs. You will collaborate closely with the Deputy Dean to ensure the excellence of our VET courses and enhance the overall learning experience for students. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of key functions aimed at maintaining program quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
As an On-Campus Lecturer, you will engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching to on-campus students, postgraduate supervision, and further development of the School's Engineering programs, as well as teaching online programs, performing research, administrative and other activities. Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee allocated VET courses.Teach VET, undergraduate, and postgraduate classes both online and on-campus.Collaborate with the Deputy Dean on program development and improvement.Conduct discipline meetings, gather instructor feedback, and implement action plans.Assist in audits, accreditation visits, and ensure compliance with standards.Review and improve course materials, assignments, and assessments for quality and accuracy.Serve as the program representative for accreditation meetings.Conduct RPL assessments and ensure compliance with related processes.Support the recruitment and supervision of academic staff.Participate in academic and industry committees, marketing efforts, and administrative tasks.Note: A detailed list of responsibilities for more info on the role can be provided upon request.
Key Selection Criteria:Excel in practical, hands-on teaching and assessment methods, fostering real-world skills development;Demonstrable ability to drive innovative approaches in training and assessmentExhibit academic leadership and good communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a scholarly and cooperative teaching and learning environment within the course.Experience in a leadership role in outstanding curriculum development and teaching methodology for topics/ courses in discipline area;Demonstrate appropriate high-level computer skills including the use of learning management systems (e.g. Moodle), spreadsheets and word-processing;Knowledge and ability to apply equal opportunity principles;Demonstrate expert knowledge in engineering and related disciplines, enhancing the online learning experienceEvidence of having independent and innovative contributions to teaching and the scholarship of teaching at the discipline level.Qualifications & Experience:Tertiary education in Engineering or related field with +5 years' relevant professional experience;Cert IV in Training and Assessment is desired;Practical industry experience in engineering.About EIT:The Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) is one of the only institutes in the world specialising in engineering education and training.
