We are looking for a Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) Trainee.
Our EOT's are Amazon's front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation.
This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.
EOT's provide 24/7 shift coverage which could include 12 hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3, 4, or 5 day work weeks.
The Data Centre Engineering Operations Trainee will be responsible for Data Centre Engineering Operations within an Amazon Data Centre including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesAssist the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed, is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.Maintaining performance benchmarks, conduct analyses & prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility infrastructure operations & maintenance.Generate Change Management requests & Incident Management tickets for DCEO as directed.Learn and contribute to documentation relevant to business & facility operations.Assist with the installation of the racks and the provision of power/cooling within its constraints.Be involved with the routine maintenance and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.Assist and learn about the design, implementation, commissioning and build out of new facilities.Assist with the management of the Facility assets and the provision of infrastructure & inventory asset management as directed.May participate in Construction & Operational Meetings as required.Assist with Work Order compliance and review of contractual SLAs.Interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.Assist in the resolution of any infrastructure engineering or services issue.Delivery of exceptional customer service and satisfaction.Meet daily hours of operations, shift and on-call requirements for response during shift rotations.This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift rack equipment; it may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see link)
About the TeamWe are experiencing rapid growth, therefore your onboarding will be dynamic in nature, where you will gain diverse experience working in new and established AWS data centre's.
These future Amazonians will rotate through various AWS locations to complete training as part of their onboarding to prepare for deployment in a data centre region.
This training will be completed over a duration of 6-12 months.
Once training is completed, individuals will be relocated to the permanent location.

Minimum RequirementsInterest in maintenance of a Data Centre or critical space facility.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Attention to detail.Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.Computer literate, confident with Office Suite.Qualifications:
- Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) Degree Cert IV and relevant experience.
- Data Centre Engineering/Operations Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
