We also own Stan, the market leading local subscription streaming service.Our total publishing business covers The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian Financial Review, to the breadth of nine.com.au and The Pedestrian Group.In our total audio business we are building talk radio for the next generation across 2GB, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR.Nine is also an active participant in Australian consumer marketplaces through our majority shareholding in Domain and our ownership of Drive.Job DescriptionThe Platform Solutions Team are central to how Nine deploy workloads to the cloud.
You'll be leading from the front in building out Nine's cloud infrastructure to deliver the content that Australia loves.You contribute to a learning-oriented workplace culture, being curious about the world around you, seeking new ways to explore and bring new thinking and practices to bear within your team.
You remain open to learning new technologies and techniques, and finding creative ways to leverage this knowledge to further team goals.You work in partnership with various product teams and practices enabling them to conduct rapid, stable, secure and repeatable deployments on Cloud and Kubernetes at scale.You are structured and methodical in your process and have demonstrated skills building and delivering support services for 24 / 7 systems.Day to Day, you will:Enabling your team:Assist the team in a hands-on capacity as requiredWork with stakeholders to provide technical solutions to problems or issuesAct as an enabler, removing roadblocks to progress as neededWork with team members to guide solutions towards business and technology goalsDrive the continuous improvement of processes and ways of work to improve team capacity and capabilityTechnical Leadership:Drive adoption of best practice and best in class technology for workload management using Kubernetes (especially EKS)Remove single points of failure by cross-skilling staff and making sensible, strategic resourcing decisionsAlways be on the lookout for products, solutions and enhancements which address current or perceived future business problemsDrive high performance:Provide one on one feedback, career advice and coaching for your team membersCommunicate openly and be the voice of the business within your team, keeping them informed of and working towards the business vision & goalsParticipate in hiring and other HR processes affecting your team where neededMentor team members to create a highly motivated, coherent, and cohesive culture which rewards high performanceQualificationsAWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional highly regardedExtensive experience in AWS infrastructure design and management, with a focus on account governanceExperience provisioning and managing Cloud Services "as code" using: CDK, Terraform, Cloudformation, Saltstack, Ansible etc.
via Jenkins, Teamcity, Concourse, etc.Experience using a wide variety of AWS products in production environmentsDemonstrable understanding of designing, deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters (plural) at scaleAdditional InformationPlease note: This role will be advertised during our Christmas shut down period.
