Our client is proud to be Australian-owned and has operated across Australia for 20 years. They have offices in ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, and Western Australia. They have cranes, hoists, equipment, and personnel on sites across Australia – predominantly within the mining, government, residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.
Your new role
The Engineering Manager will report to the Technical Director and lead a team of 4 young talented mechanical and civil engineers. This role is responsible for the project management of all engineering requirements for the tower crane, mobile crane, and hoist fleet across Australia & New Zealand and to ensure all legislative requirements and standards are met.
The outline of the role covers some of the following:
Manage, mentor, recruit, appraise and lead the engineering team in Sydney. Review and standardize engineering processes across the business (from base design, tie and climb to crane dismantle). Manage external consultants and suppliers. Delivery of some drafting. Maintain relationship with OEMs. Manage and monitor design to ensure it is on budget as per tender and contract price. Ensure on-time targets are met for each project. Liaise and develop client relationships and manage their expectations. Project manage multiple projects from inception through to practical completion. Update and report to PM's and state managers on project status and variations. Facilitate negotiations between consultants and suppliers with Procurement Manager. Look for new innovations and opportunities for the company. Your experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's in engineering; Mechanical/Civil
- CAD experience and capable of reading drawings and schematics
- Supportive team mentality
- Experience working in construction, civil or mechanical field.
