Position summary Inverse Group is excited to be partnering with a number of fantastic organizations to discover their next Engineering Manager. Both roles require excellent leadership skills and technical expertise to ensure the performance, development, and well-being of members are cared for.
Where they differ is one leading a smaller team which enables the opportunity to remain hands-on, and the other will be leading a fairly large team and will be focused more on leading other leaders.
About the role Key responsibilities include: Being part of the senior leadership group understanding the vision and the priorities required for it to be realized.Collaborating with others to define the product roadmap ensuring alignment to the company's goals and vision.Communicating the strategic direction and guiding engineering teams.Fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.Developing team members to unlock their potential.Managing the well-being and job satisfaction of the engineering team, promoting engagement and retention.Ensuring software quality and performance standards are met.Identifying roadblocks and coming up with ways to alleviate the impediments.Where the role differs: Engineering Manager: Remaining hands-on getting involved in building new features and enhancements leveraging Python, Node.JS, REACT.Leading a team of Software Engineers, Test Analysts, and potentially Infrastructure specialists.Senior Engineering Manager: Leading, guiding, and developing other Engineering Managers.Collaborating with other leaders that operate in different time zones.About the candidate Key Requirements: Previous background in Software Engineering having pushed code into production.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Team Leadership/Management.Prior experience working in a startup/scale-up environment.Demonstrable experience inspiring, leading, and developing a high-performing team.Previous experience successfully collaborating with senior leaders/C-suite.Bonus points for: Experience having worked in both startups/scale-ups and large enterprises.Experience leading other managers.Hands-on Development capabilities in Python, REACT, AWS.Experience working on products leveraging AI/Data.Experience leading teams in differing time zones.Benefits and perks Flexible working environment.Caring and supportive team.Hybrid work environments.CBD Location.How to apply At Inverse Group we are dedicated to creating and improving diverse and inclusive environments within the workforce.
