Engineering Manager – Mackay About the Role: Ampcontrol is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team for an Electrical Workshop based in Paget.

Key Responsibilities: Engineering Services: Oversee the engineering process from design through to project completion, ensuring all work is accurate, timely and compliant to Australian standards and relevant regulations. AS3800 Compliance: Manage and lead the Recognised Service Facility (RSF) requirements to ensure 100% compliance during all audits and act on any findings in a timely manner. Process Improvement: Develop and refine engineering processes to improve efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. Project Management: Assist the delivery team with tendering, labour breakdown schedules, forecasting, design reviews, and contract deadlines while maintaining budget targets. Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation, including design files, manuals, and supplier/customer correspondence. Customer Service: Serve as a key technical advisor to customers, providing timely responses and maintaining strong relationships. Internal Stakeholder Engagement: Be the QLD representative for all group-wide engineering stakeholder meetings.
Represent QLD for all technical leads and source information from the wider group as required. Team Leadership: Lead the recruitment, training, and development of the engineering team while driving a culture of continuous improvement and succession planning. Business Development: Identify opportunities for product/process improvements and foster relationships with key clients to drive business growth. Digitisation: Be a leader in supporting the progression of digitising our current forms and processes. Requirements: - Strong safety focus and ability to be proactive in identifying areas for improvement.

Education & Qualifications: - Degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
- CPEng / RPEng and RPEQ are highly regarded.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Experience in PLC/SCADA development and programming.
Experience: - Proven experience managing an engineering department or team.
- Read and understand electrical schematics to a high level.
- Strong background in electrical mining equipment (predominantly coal mining).
- Manufacturing and/or workshop experience.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, both technical and managerial.
- Previous experience managing budgets, tenders, and project timelines.
Desirable: - WH&S and Project Management qualifications.
- Familiarity with Ampcontrol's product range and competitor equipment.
