As one of the largest and fast growing manufacturing companies in Australia, we can offer job security and long term career opportunities.About the roleWe are growing rapidly at our Mt Gambier facility with a major construction development taking place over the next 5-7 years with ongoing work beyond that.For this full time, permanent position, we are seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to lead our Maintenance team consisting of a Maintenance Manager, Electrical and Mechanical Coordinators and a team of Fitters, Fabricators, Electricians, and apprentices. Managing all maintenance, preventative maintenance and breakdown responses, the role would ideally suit someone who is hands on in their ability to ensure the continual operation and effectiveness of all plant and equipment across our manufacturing facilities. In this role you will be responsible for: Overseeing the management and coordination of the maintenance team and contractors on site to ensure preventative and other maintenance tasks are completed as scheduledManaging planned and breakdown maintenance activities to reduce downtime through the use of maintenance plans, performance measurement, and ongoing improvement plansDeveloping, monitoring and implementing plans to forecast the replacement of end of life assets and improvement in plant reliability and performanceDriving the prioritisation of all maintenance activities so that high cost / high impact problems are addressed firstLiaising with the Facility, Maintenance and Production Managers on a daily basis to understand and report on key issues, priorities and actionsMonitoring and approving the assignment of resources Overseeing the management of the maintenance stores and stock holdingReviewing and ensuring critical spares are identified and arrangements made to ensure availabilitySharing a common commitment and dedication to achieve a cost effective maintenance outcomeOverseeing and facilitation of site capital projectsContinually reviewing scheduled maintenance against completed tasksBeing available for call-ins as required to ensure continual operation of the facilityEnsuring the implementation of safety and quality assurance practices into all repairs and maintenance activities and efficiently manage corrective actionsEstablishing, communicating and monitoring safety standards and lead corrective action in areas of riskLeading others through coaching, delegation and recognitionImplementing strategies to identify people issues, reduce staff turnover and ensure labour cost base is the most productive, efficient and competitive About youAs our preferred candidate, you will have Tertiary certification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or related field5+ years' experience in a maintenance management roleExperience within large industrial manufacturing facilitiesExperience in planning maintenance operationsPractical understanding of industrial equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps and electrical systemsProficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably MainpacAn innovative, driven and action orientated approachAn ability to demonstrate high level planning, organisation and implementation skillsA proactive response to resolving engineering and management issues if they ariseExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsOutstanding leadership abilities To be successful, you must be motivated and be willing to put in the effort to complete the role to the high standard required.
