NEP is currently looking for a Software Engineer Manager to lead high-performance teams of specialist software engineers. These teams are primarily focused on the low-level APIs and drivers that interact with specialist Broadcast hardware and protocols.
This role is based at our state-of-the-art Andrews Hub in Southbank, Melbourne. It can occasionally require weekend or evening work in line with the scale of live global events we provide services for.
The positionWe are expanding our teams and the services we currently offer and need you to help us.You already have experience as a Senior Lead or Manager and have a passion for ensuring that the teams deliver reliable quality work, on time. As such, you understand and assist in removing impediments for your teams and ensuring they can be responsible for the success of our products.
You have a technical background that enables you to challenge or promote ideas and implementations within and across teams. Key Responsibilities but not limited to:Provide feedback and identify opportunities for growth for team members.Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Technical Leadership to ensure smooth delivery of services.Collaborate with Operations and Security teams to identify improvements and optimizations.Highlight and suggest improvements in shortcomings in services, policies, or processes.Review and assess technical work within the team and provide feedback.Lead or facilitate cross-team initiatives within NEP.Engage and coordinate with Vendors and Suppliers for integrations and joint projects.Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.Required skills and attributes:Bachelors or Masters in Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)4+ years in an Engineering Role1+ years in a Lead or Management PositionTeam BuildingTrustworthy Team PlayerExperience or deep understanding of critical real-time servicesNEP believes that, first and foremost, the efforts of our people are what contribute to our successes.
