We now work with over 21,000 practitioners around Australia, including GPs, Allied Health, Dental Practices, Specialists, and Optometrists.

As an Engineering Manager at HotDoc, you will be at the centre of the action helping 10 million+ patients across Australia to manage their health.

Unique value of the role As the Engineering Manager for our Practitioners team, you'll guide initiatives that enhance how healthcare practitioners in Australia interact with our platform.
This team's mission is to help practitioners, who interact with us through their practices, become active, direct users of HotDoc.
Australia's healthcare system faces challenges—on average, patients wait over four days to see a GP and months to get more specialised care.
Our goal is to support practitioners in delivering faster, more tailored care through innovative solutions such as asynchronous care and AI triage.
By helping practitioners deliver health services more efficiently, we can unlock access for in-person appointments that are available for patients who truly need them.
Over the next couple of years, you will help us:
Activate thousands of GPs and other practitioners on our platform, making HotDoc an essential part of their workflow.Enable practitioners to deliver faster, more convenient care to their patients, via telehealth and asynchronous services.Drive efficiencies for practitioners through innovations like AI-powered triage, freeing them to focus on complex patient needs.Your responsibilities in helping us achieve these outcomes include: Lead and coach a team of high performing engineers, providing guidance, support, and career development opportunities to help them thrive in their roles.Drive the technical execution and delivery of projects, ensuring high-quality output that meets business and user needs.Support the team in monitoring performance and productivity, using data to make informed decisions that improve efficiency and highlight opportunities for growth.Stakeholders & Relationships Direct Manager - VP of Engineering

Experiences, Capabilities & Qualifications 4+ years of experience in managing engineers.A strong technical background and a passion for solving complex problems in creative ways.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.Formal relevant Engineering qualifications (Software, IT, Mathematics or similar).Preferred Experience Experience writing software - in particular Ruby (RoR).
