About the role:

We provide technology infrastructure and services to deliver the full range of financial services including mortgages, asset finance, insurances and financial planning across Australia and New Zealand.
Our operational focus is to provide efficient enabling technology, managing information strategically, and expanding and improving our service delivery.
The engineering team is responsible for the development, implementation and support of technology services for all corporate staff and our franchisees and independent contractors.

We work with Continuous Improvement and Continuous Deployment.

This role is responsible for development and maintenance of software created by the MyCRM team.
In particular:
Technical leadershipEngineering practicesProduction operationsSoftware and cloud infrastructure improvement and maintenanceTechnical supportRapid prototypingProduct design
The Engineering manager will have people management responsibilities for part of the engineering team equating to roughly 10 people and will play an active role in the MyCRM leadership.

Key responsibilities: Team and Process Acting as a leader and mentor to all engineering team members.Developing technical goals and strategies for developers, quality assurance and DevOps resources.Create overall technology standards and practices and ensure adherence.Ensuring technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely.Developing the company's strategy and approach for building the engineering team and creating the right shape and skill sets required to deliver on our strategy. Business: Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook.Work closely with Product Management, Business Development and Operations teams to define and deliver new products and enhancements within the platform.Ensuring that the technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.Use stakeholders' feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology. Architecture: Collaborate with the CTO to develop Platforms Technical Design and improve infrastructure and application architecture, ensuring high level of security and stability for MyCRM platform.Collaborate and support engineering teams to reduce/eliminate any repetitive manual tasks.Steer design of automation and tooling to improve development efficiency and quality.Work in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as operations, product and customer support as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.Provide technical expertise to guide integration of MyCRM platform with other parties.Conduct research and case studies on leading edge technologies and make determinations on the probability of implementation.Undertake any other duties within your capabilities as may be reasonably required. Delivery: Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture.Staying on top of technology trends and developments.Evaluating and implementing new systems and infrastructure.Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage.Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency.Build processes for data protection and quality assurance.Track, analyse and monitor technology performance metrics.Monitor system infrastructure to ensure it is functioning and working efficiently. To succeed in this role you will bring with you: Qualifications: BA in Engineering, Computer Science or similar relevant field.In-depth knowledge of web systems architecture, design and development. Experience: Proven experience in Technology Leadership.5+ years working in a senior technology leadership role.5+ years managerial experience. Skills: Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history with technology curiosity.Proven leadership and organisational abilities.Ability to conduct technological analyses and research.Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future.Exceptional team management skills.Knowledge of technological trends.Strategic thinking.Autonomous.Excellent verbal and written communication.Interested in the business models of software products, not just the technical challenges of programming.Ability to delegate efficiently.Proactive problem solver.Attention to details.
