This project will provide the Customer's Headquarters facilities and outlying buildings with services necessary to ensure optimal performance and utilization of the facility infrastructure, including, but not limited to, Operation & Maintenance (O&M), recapitalization, renovations, design, construction, records management, repairs to correct identified deficiencies or adverse impacts to operational capabilities, and improvements leveraging innovative and technological solutions.
Who You Are KBR is in search of a skilled Engineering Manager to lead our mechanical, civil, and structural engineering support for construction/renovation activities.
You will manage a team of specialists, focusing on operational effectiveness, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, analytical acumen, an eye for detail, and a proven ability to make decisions and adhere to strict deadlines.
This is a 24x7 operation which requires provision of on-call support.
Your role transcends conventional limits, placing a premium on the solid availability of essential systems.
It's imperative that these systems remain operational without interruption.
Your vigilant oversight and proactive maintenance strategies are the cornerstones of our commitment to delivering stellar customer service.
This role will be located in Alice Springs, Australia at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space.
The Engineering Manager will be expected to travel between our facilities in Alice Springs and the local area.
This position is expected to be onsite 100%. What You'll Do In the role of Engineering Manager, your duties will include: Provide electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural engineering support for construction/renovation activities, configuration management, maintenance, feasibility studies, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates and taskers.
Review proposed infrastructure changes, support construction activities, assess impacts and ensure changes comply with US Government and Host Nation environmental regulations and Site standards.
Responsible for the management of Work Orders to include resource management and interfacing with customer representatives.
Hiring, training, and leading a competent workforce to be versatile and technically savvy.
Orchestrating activities to align with the overarching contract requirements and to ensure smooth plant operations.
Guaranteeing the continuity of critical infrastructure operations, with a commitment to reliability for around-the-clock mission support.
Executing thorough evaluations of facilities to guide the prioritization of key upgrade projects and enhancements for energy management and automation.
Implementing work processes and leveraging data analysis to assist clients with achieving reliable equipment performance at cost-effective rates.
Drafting comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
Communicating effectively with diverse teams, responding to questions, and solving a range of operational issues.
Applying corporate standards diligently and upholding strict adherence to environmental, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
Keeping a close watch on contractual obligations and staying informed of any regulatory changes that impact facility operations.
Physical Demands: This position entails various physical activities, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering through diverse positions, and may require lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
Requirements Possess an active TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph or Host Nation TS/PV clearance. A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Controls) from an accredited university.
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with design reviews and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) facility-related programs of similar size, scope, and complexity.
A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Senior Project Manager responsible for supervising project managers, engineers, and sub-contractors.
Demonstrated experience managing a multi-million-dollar project portfolio, and balancing resources while maintaining cost and schedules.
Experience working in 24x7x365 mission-critical environments requiring close coordination with mission operations where continuous availability is essential and of the highest priority.
Demonstrated experience building recapitalization plans.
Ability to read construction design and equipment drawings.
Knowledge of process improvement models (e.g., LEAN/Six Sigma, ISO 9000).
Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Response Procedures.
Knowledge in MEP concepts of operation, and electrical generation procedures.
Demonstrated supervisory experience with excellent organizational and leadership capabilities.
