About your potential new position: Glencore Coal Assets Australia has a firm belief that engineering design, asset management standards, and reliability have been fundamental in the success of the safe, highly productive operating sites.
Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of asset management systems and personnel is an area with significant potential and essential for meeting the business targets set by Glencore.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the primary focus of this role will be to steward and assist Sites in analyzing and developing engineering strategy, objectives, and plans for asset management, ensuring group-wide systems, processes, and tools are in place to consolidate, report, and track performance.
Core business expectations of the role include: Supporting Sites during the Life of Mine (LOM) and annual budgeting processes by analyzing performance, assessing risks and opportunities, and developing asset management strategies to meet business outcomes.Leading and coordinating the annual Asset Management planning cycle, assessing the impact of equipment performance on safety, productivity, cost, and risk, and recommending improvements for long-term targets and strategies.Coordinating the development and publication of the annual Strategic Asset Management Plan and conducting periodic reviews and assessments of progress.Coordinating the development of resourced plans for group engineering projects and initiatives, including progress tracking and reporting.Managing a small team responsible for developing, governing, and supporting the asset management and performance management systems including SAP PM, Xeras, AMT, and Minvu.Overseeing the management of GCAA hire fleet and other group assets.Govern the development, updating, and publishing of group engineering frameworks, standards, systems, tools, and documents.About you: You will have tertiary studies in asset management, mechanical, electrical, or a related discipline with at least 5 years' experience at a coal mine in Australia in a senior engineering position.You'll have project management experience.You can identify what data is useful to collect (and what isn't), how to safely, cost-effectively, and efficiently collect it, and most importantly utilize the data consistently.You are proficient with maintenance management systems (we utilize SAP).Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills with leadership experience highly regarded.You enjoy coaching and developing others and gain satisfaction through incremental improvements.What's in it for you?
