JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is recruiting an Engineering Manager to join our Operations business in a pivotal role as we partner with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry to provide Brownfield Engineering, Procurement and Construction services on a long-term, Engineering Service Contract.
Based in Perth CBD, this is a permanent role and is available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.Wood's "Operations" APAC West business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Southeast Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to the Head of Engineering and Contract Manager, you will lead a dedicated Contract team, balancing people, technical, client, and project leadership.
You will be responsible for the engineering portion of multi-discipline engineering scopes of work on multiple projects, supporting as part of a long-term Brownfields Engineering Service Contract with one of Wood's key clients.
In this highly visible role, you will bring to life Woods three pillar strategy of Inspired Culture, Delivery Excellence and Profitable Growth on the Contract.
Leading by example, you will consistently display and enforce Wood values and behaviours, and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour, to ensure safe and reliable operations and client satisfaction.
Anticipating client needs beyond the immediate scope, you will drive technical excellence and assurance on the engineering portion of projects across all disciplines to add value to the client and asset portfolio, while balancing client relationships and enabling the ongoing development and growth of the Contract team.
In addition, you will also participate directly in the design, development, and inspection of projects and as a leader, enjoy contributing to delivery of engineering excellence through:
Managing and leading, supporting, and supervising the discipline engineering teams.Managing key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.Coordinating and completing the various engineering, and start-up aspects of projects while meeting HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget performance goals.Developing and retaining motivated and competent people.Undertaking the role of process owner.Driving safety by design and leading on opportunities for innovation.At Wood you will join an inclusive and diverse global community of inquisitive minds and recognised industry innovators, partnering to create new possibilities.
QUALIFICATIONSYou will be able to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location.
If you have a visa application in progress, you are also encouraged to apply.Ideally you will have proven experience in a similar Engineering Manager role or have considerable experience in a Discipline Manager role with relevant experience in successful operational and strategic delivery for a complex contract / portfolio within the Oil & Gas sector.
Suitably qualified with a degree in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field, you will:
Be an expert in engineering excellence with extensive knowledge of engineering theories and techniques and a high level of skill in the application of this knowledge in the management of the engineering function, tools, and processes.Be a leader of people with several years of supervisory experience, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practice, driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do.Have a professional level of knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation with an ability to apply relevant technical practices, codes, and standards.Be commercially astute with a "solutions mindset", skilled in the management of risk during the design process consistent with safety, technical and commercial requirements.Be an articulate communicator (both written and verbal) including well-developed technical report writing and professional presentation skills.Have a passion for energy security / transition with the vision to navigate energy models of the future, coupled with your proven experience partnering with clients to be more efficient, sustainable, and optimised to deliver the best energy mix in their respective markets.Be customer focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.What will set you apart will be your previous experience working in a similar client facing leadership role on a major long term Engineering Service Contract in brownfields Oil & Gas.It takes a diverse and inclusive community of inquisitive minds to unlock tomorrow's solutions to the world's most critical challenges.
