Where and how you can work:
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. You have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.
What you'd be doing in this role: This year the Home and Content Management group is on a mission to inspire everyone to visually communicate and stay organised. We are forming a new team to help teams that use Canva to organise their designs effectively whilst controlling access. This means building rich features into the Canva home page and for use in-context within the editor. Performance and reliability are at the forefront of everything we do.
This role is focused on: Leading motivated engineers who build, run, and analyse features across the Canva product. Coaching engineers by providing regular, practical feedback and collaboratively helping them reach their personal growth goals. Setting clear goals for the team and rallying the team to execution on those goals. Ensuring a healthy environment for collaboration and fostering an open, pragmatic, and encouraging engineering culture. Owning the team's development methodology and rituals such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives. Leading the team's technical strategy and roadmap in collaboration with various stakeholders. Writing and reviewing design documents, breaking projects down into milestones, and being responsible for project delivery. Working in cross-functional teams with UI/UX designers, content designers, product managers, and engineers (including QA and data analysts). You're probably a match if you have: Proven success in people and technical leadership. Previous experience as a Software Engineer, comfortable contributing to design documents. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to influence and work cross-functionally across several internal teams. Measurement-oriented, with an experimentation mindset. What's in it for you? Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard, but you'll experience moments of magic, connectivity, and fun woven throughout life at Canva. We offer a stack of benefits to set you up for success in and outside of work:
Equity packages - we want our success to be yours too. Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers. An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more. Flexible leave options that empower you to recharge and support you personally.
