As an Engineering Lead for Insurance, you will be responsible for driving the development of our Insurance Platforms Services Layer, ensuring they are high-performing, reliable, and meet the needs of our customers.
Mentoring and guiding a team of skilled Java developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
The Engineering Lead will use deep understanding of AWS, Java, Spring Framework and other relevant technologies to architect and implement scalable solutions in our cloud-designed microservices environment.
They will oversee the software development lifecycle, from planning and design to deployment and maintenance, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
The role works closely with product managers, business analysts, delivery managers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver features that align with business goals.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, continually integrating new ideas and best practices to enhance our web applications.
You'll have: Experience in Technical Leadership, and demonstrable ability to motivate self and others with a passion to mentor.
Experience or interest in building and extending tooling and processes to improve developer productivity, delivery and consistency Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical requirements effectively to the business and across multidisciplinary teams Ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring the stability and reliability of our applications.
Strong demonstrated technical experience in Java using spring framework, AWS, relational databases (MySQL, Postgres etc.
), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible etc.
), containerisation (Docker, ECS etc.).
Strong proficiency to forge and reinforce strong software engineering principles and best practices Proven experience in developing, deploying, debugging, and testing.
Confidence in applying patterns, techniques and approaches that ensure high-quality, highly flexible software.
The ability to balance technical and communication skills and adjust to your audience.
Attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
An approachable attitude to educate, mentor and influence the team.
