About the role
Support project managers/group manager by providing technical expertise in geotechnical engineering/engineering geology. Ensure that project outcomes in terms of profit, schedule, technical and quality standards meet both the client and Stantec expectations.
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
Day to day tasks would involve:
Undertake a range of duties in carrying out designs and studies for civil/geotechnical engineering projects to provide high level technical service to internal and external clients.
Conduct site surveys, field investigations and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
Manage subcontractors and tasks within projects to ensure on time and on budget delivery of project outcomes.
Produce calculations, specifications, and drawings to ensure that technical design will provide the appropriate solution.
Maintain communication and develop ongoing contacts with clients as required.
Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material as required.
Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality, Safety & Environment Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
Minimise and control risk by commitment to the Stantec Quality, Health & Safety programmes and ensuring proactive use of our project management systems.
Other duties as reasonably required.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or Science degree with a focus on Geology (or equivalent).
At least 2 years' professional experience in a commercial consulting or engineering environment (after completion of graduate education).
Solid foundation of technical knowledge on standard processes and procedures in relevant technical field.
Excellent organisation and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems easily.
Well-developed interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
