Our Engineering Director Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to build, lead, coach and develop an efficient and globally dispersed Engineering team that builds products for over 90,000 customers. This role will have a unique opportunity to take one of our SaaS domains to its next phase of growth.
Key responsibilities:
Drive and influence the technology strategy that aligns to business objectives.
Shape and grow your domain to ensure delivery while driving complex technical work in conjunction with product areas and functions.
Develop your domain's vision and mission to achieve an excellent product experience for our customers.
Identify and remove organizational bottlenecks.
Support and develop a group of Engineering Managers, ensuring they have the right support in their roles as well as the right challenges to grow.
Define and implement best in class performance standards across the engineering organization.
Support Engineering Managers in building high-performing engineering teams.
As part of the senior engineering leadership team, work to improve our shared engineering practices and ways of working.
Set and execute on strategy to retain engineering talent.
Create an engineering environment where Engineers have job satisfaction, feel that their work is valuable, and are empowered to be efficient and innovative.
Responsible for the technical success of your organization.
Together with your architect, provide the teams with context and guidance to ensure we together build a cohesive product.
Manage and develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders within and outside the engineering organization.
Lead the way as a clear role model living the Sinch values.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have proven experience as a technical leader of a larger organization, leading through others as a manager of managers. This includes developing, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams. A previous background as a hands-on Software Engineer is important, with a good understanding of system design. You should be conversant in the following areas:
Large-scale application development
Microservice architectures
SaaS products
You possess a deep understanding of how to translate product and business goals into tech strategies. Experience and interest in transforming a delivery organization into product teams working together for the customer is desirable. An entrepreneurial mindset and focus on commercial outcomes, along with a passion for keeping up with current best practices, are essential.
