We currently have an exciting opportunity for an
Engineering Design & Delivery Manager
(Senior Program Engineer)
to join the Strategic Projects, Property and Portfolio team.
You will manage and coordinate several projects simultaneously, ensuring that each one meets its design compliance, scope, budget, and timeline. Additionally, you will work closely with the project management team to support development and implementation of the project delivery framework for the program, ensuring that all design, contractual and commercial aspects are effectively managed.
Your leadership will be crucial in driving the success of the program, ensuring that each project is delivered to the highest standards, thorough Contractor Management is upheld and that stakeholder engagement and risk management are proactively addressed throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Act in the role of the Engineering Design and Delivery Manager, overseeing the strategic technical design and delivery lead for engineering and services.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across internal departments and external influential parties including DTMR, local governments and specific community groups.
Lead the facilitation of all design interactions between engineers, architectural design, and construction planning professionals in project-based teams.
Establish and manage compliance of the program quality management systems and compliance framework.
Deliver expert technical design leadership and guidance to the project team to ensure successful program delivery while managing processes to meet established targets and KPIs.
Lead direction and negotiations through successful navigation of design related obligations to support strategic decision making throughout the life of the project delivery to handover.
In conjunction with other internal business functions, act as the project lead in the asset handover framework and process to ensure that client's requirements are being achieved.
Act as the initial Quality Gate reviewing any transmitted deliverables against clients design standards and specifications and ensuring completeness of deliverables so it is considered 'fit-for-purpose' to be reviewed by relevant SME(s).
Be the focal point for resolution of design issues, RFI's, derogations, non-conformances, to the satisfaction of client QR SME's and other internal stakeholders (ensuring comment close-out).
Provide assistance to the commercial Manager to respond to technical related commercial letters, as required.
Ensuring responses to all technical submission are provided in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of client.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
You must have knowledge and experience in the project delivery of public infrastructure projects, particularly associated with railway infrastructure.
A minimum of 7+ years' experience undertaking project delivery in a site-based environment in either Project Engineer, Design Manager, or other related project delivery roles.
You must have experience in leading stakeholders and externally lead design and delivery professionals.
Strong knowledge of transport infrastructure design obligations, operations, construction, maintenance, and safety.
High-level of influencing, interpersonal, communications and consultation skills.
