Engineering Coach
Full Time Permanent Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Engineering Coach responsible for coaching and mentoring colleagues such as Engineering Leads and Quality Engineers within newly formed teams, within the Technology department.
A primary stakeholder of the Engineering Coach is the Head Of Engineering of Technology Products.
The Engineering Coach is an experienced technical expert, who has grappled and overcome real-world product and technology challenges.
You will collaborate with Product Coaches and Ways of Working Coaches, DevOps practitioners, and Engineering colleagues to help them overcome challenges and implement Modern Engineering practices and enabling technologies.
As the Engineering Coach, you have a deep understanding of Product, Agile, and Technical practices.
You have experience in leveraging coaching techniques to provide personalised insights and interventions to individuals and teams.
Being an excellent communicator and influencer, you will work with a broad set of stakeholders with the goal to enable teams to deliver more effectively across the Product Lifecycle (Discovery to Retirement).
The Engineering Coach takes a broader view and is accountable for increasing the maturity of the Engineering capability across the organisation, whilst supporting delivery teams in their Agile practices.
Beyond technical ability (Engineering, Agile, Product) skills, you have a genuine desire to support others.
This role is ideal for experienced Engineers and Senior practitioners who have worked in Product and Agile environments where the organisation is going through a larger scale transformation.
The role requires someone flexible and ready to drive results at scale by supporting leaders and who deliver business value.
You will hold both experience and ability to effectively coach Engineering Managers and teams, exercising technical expertise, leadership abilities, and hands-on experience within a broader operating model transformation.
What are we looking for?5+ years' experience coaching Engineer and Quality individual contributors and leadership or Leading the Engineering Capability.Solid experience with programming languages particularly with .Net and/or .Net Core.5+ years' experience in delivering products through the Product Lifecycle (Discovery to Retirement).Technical expertise including cloud native architecture, distributed systems, CI/CD, test automation, and other modern engineering practices such as Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, Observability.Proven track record of coaching and mentoring new leaders and individual contributors (Engineering and Quality) in their role.Demonstrated experience with Extreme Programming (XP) and XP framework.Experience in developing solutions leveraging digital solutions.Ability to influence without authority and lead through servant leadership.Outstanding communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.Passion for continuous improvement and innovation.DesirableProduct expertise, including working in a Product environment within a broader transformation.Knowledge of various Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and Lean.Certifications such as CSM, CSPO, or PMI-ACP.Knowledge of Agile project management tools like Jira.Experience guiding teams through conflict resolution and change.High emotional intelligence and self-awareness.Our Promise to Our PeopleWe are passionate about our core values of Customer First, We Care, One Team, and Results Driven, which define how we approach our work.
