Friday, January 3, 2025SIGN-ON BONUS OFFEREDIteris is looking for an Engineer to perform transportation or traffic engineering work primarily in traffic signal systems management, operations, signal coordination, and timing studies under the supervision and guidance of senior engineering staff.
Additionally, the Engineer will provide occasional support in the development of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) plans, specifications, budget estimates, and reports.
For candidates living in the Houston / San Antonio areas, the position will be remote.
Candidates living in the Austin / Dallas Fort Worth areas will be required to work in the local office.What you will be doing:Performing transportation or traffic engineering work on traffic signal timing studies, signal systems management, and operationsMay include working on the development of ITS plans, specifications, budget estimates, and reportsPerform travel time runs/collect and interpret travel time dataDevelop the existing condition and optimized condition models in SynchroDevelop basic controller interval timingsDevelop coordinated timing plansImplement new traffic signal timing plans in the fieldAdjust signal timing in the field based on traffic conditionsCollect traffic signal/ITS equipment inventoryConduct traffic engineering studies, traffic impact analyses, traffic operation, and safety studiesITS planning and design: Plans and specifications, systems engineering analysis, reports, and budget estimatesConduct systems integration and network management activitiesPerform ITS equipment field implementation and supportPosition may require occasional travel locally or nationwideWhat you need to be successful in this role:Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldPE license in TexasPTOE, IMSA Certifications preferredOver five (5) years of ITS/traffic engineering experienceOver five (5) years with traffic system design, operations, and signal timing studiesOver five (5) years experience with tools such as Synchro, Sim Traffic, VISSIM, AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, etc.Familiarity with ITS planning and Plans, Specifications & Estimate (PS&E) developmentSolid written and verbal communication/presentation skillsPassion for transportation engineeringIteris anticipates paying between $95,000 and $106,000 for this role.
