About the job
Our Systems Planning Water team plays a critical role in supporting water distribution systems across South Australia.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Engineer Systems Planning Water to join the Infrastructure Planning and Strategy business unit.
This role provides technical expertise in water distribution hydraulic modelling, system planning, and infrastructure investigation, supporting business decisions and enabling sustainable growth.In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Proactively contribute to team objectives by completing allocated tasks, participating in decision-making, and fostering a culture of service excellence.
Uphold safety standards for yourself and others, ensuring compliance with WHS procedures and maintaining fitness for work.
Develop and support plans for existing and future water infrastructure using network models to meet current and future requirements.
Maintain and develop water distribution hydraulic models, support consultancy briefs, and assist with GIS/IT tool customisation.
Respond to technical queries and provide solutions for fire flow network analysis, customer growth, operational challenges, and water quality support within agreed timelines.
Adopt contemporary technical knowledge and standards to enhance team outputs and ensure quality and efficiency in planning and modelling.
Your success in this role will come from:
A tertiary qualification in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification with relevant experience.
Expertise in hydraulic modelling software, water distribution system planning, GIS and data analytics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders.
Understanding of water quality network modelling, infrastructure, and data collection methods is desirable.
