The Role We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Short-Term Scheduling Engineer to develop their skills working in a large, complex production operation at the George Fisher Mine. The mine planning team is one of the largest onsite technical services teams in Australia providing a high level of mentoring and training to develop your career. A large diverse team of professionals gives opportunity for you to grow and develop into other areas of the department such as the Mid Term Planning, Long Term Planning, Projects or Mine Scheduling teams. If you are willing to be flexible, help others when required, and willing to take on new challenges your career with us could be wide and varied.The successful candidates will be responsible for: Assisting the Senior Mine Planning Engineer in updating Management Plans, Procedures, Guidelines, Trigger Action Response Plans (TARPS), Standard Work Instructions (SWI) with the latest systems, methods and processes used Provide training and mentoring to new starters, Cadets, and Graduates Ensure underground inspections are carried out for the planned design work Track activity progress and provide feedback to schedulers and other disciplines on changes and delays to the mining plan Completion of development designs, backfill designs, stope notes and other short-term work required for operations to execute the production plan Drive projects in specific areas of the mine as per the LOA and budget plan Accountable for design and delivery of the short-term mine plan Identify and articulate business risks to the scheduling team to allow for effective scheduling Perform reconciliation on executed mine plans to track design and operational performance for continuous improvement purposes The successful candidates will be and have the ability to obtain: University degree in Mining Engineering or similar A minimum of 2 years underground hard rock mining experience, or minimum of 3 years of open cut or underground experience in Hard Rock Experience in Mine Design is preferred Competent in Microsoft Office software packages and Mine Design software packages such as Surpac, Datamine, or Deswik (preferred) Work well in a team environment and have good communication skills Take pride in your work with a high degree of accuracy and good time management skills What you will gain from this is the opportunity is to be part of a team working across multiple complex, deep and extensive sites.
