About the roleJoin our team as an Engineer/Senior Engineer, supporting key functions like system strength and inertia assessments, emergency frequency control scheme design, investigation of oscillations and system restart plan evaluations. You'll perform model validations and other power system studies in operational time frames to ensure power system security with a changing generation mix. This role reports to the Manager of Operational Analysis and Engineering and can be based at any of our office locations across multiple states.What you will be doingPerform power system modelling and studies, including wide-area simulations using PSS/E and PSCAD/EMTDC.Develop high-quality technical reports with study outcomes and recommendations.Support the Manager in presenting technical findings to stakeholders and addressing feedback.Assist in investigation of power system oscillations with existing and new methods.Collaborate with various AEMO departments and Network Service Providers for technical discussions.Provide ad hoc support as necessary with required analysis and simulations for supporting the NEM RTO and making operational decisions.

What you will bring to the roleElectrical Engineering degree with a focus on power systems and/or power electronics.Extensive experience in power systems and/or power electronics modelling and simulations.Proficiency in using power system tools like PSCAD/EMTDC and PSS/E for wide-area simulations.Strong understanding of power system dynamics, stability concepts, and national electricity rules.Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings and manage multiple projects.
