Job Description

Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) is embarking on a large-scale upgrade of its power generation infrastructure and electrical distribution network, targeting renewable penetration of up to 75% with the installation of a hybrid renewables system comprising solar PV, wind BESS and diesel generators.

The Authority is seeking an experienced and qualified Engineer - Renewables, to provide engineering and project management support through the design and construct phase through to ongoing operations and maintenance of the installed assets.

Selection Criteria To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate your suitability against the following essential selection criteria: Tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.Knowledge of electrical power systems, components, and industry standards and regulations.Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the renewable energy industry.High level of problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong written and verbal communication, and collaboration skills.Applies and promotes the principles of equity, diversity and work health and safety in the workplace.The following desirable criteria will be assessed as required: Demonstrated understanding of power system modelling with proficiency in electrical design and simulation tools such as PowerFactory, Homer or similar.Familiarity with operational technology, SCADA systems and communication protocols.Evidence of genuine team player with proactive attitude, adaptability and flexibility to manage a diverse workload and competing priorities.About Us
