About the RoleBHP Coal has a well-established remote operations facility in the heart of Brisbane - Integrated Operations. This world-class control centre coordinates the near-term scheduling, planning and controlling of our coal operations from a central location and delivers performance improvements across the coal operations in a sustainable way.
We are seeking experienced process engineers with previous operational experience (preferably coal) to join our team. The integrated operations process engineering team's purpose is to deliver engineering excellence.
This is a Brisbane based role, offering flexible work arrangements.
In this role you will: Positively shape the Integrated Operations culture in alignment with the BHP Values.Motivate, engage and coach the team towards achieving safety, inclusiveness and productivity goals.Actively manage CHPP control systems optimisation in conjunction with control systems engineers to deliver optimal production outcomes.Analyse CHPP and production data to identify opportunities and utilise structured problem-solving methodologies to determine the root cause of issues and improve current production.Lead improvement projects, with a strong focus on replication of best practice across all CHPPs.Coach controllers in the best practice operation of CHPP control systems.Work with execution supervisors to identify and correct performance deviations.Develop high quality project deliverables including process design, technical specifications, training documentation and communications artefacts.You will be tertiary qualified in Chemical / Metallurgical / Process Engineering or Minerals Processing with at least 5 years operational experience in coal processing. You will have the capacity to problem solve and optimise production through the continued improvement of CHPP control systems, operational tactics and training.
To be successful in this role you will possess the ability to analyse, problem solve, build capability in others, drive performance, collaborate and influence in the right mix.
In addition, you will demonstrate the following: Ability to analyse process trends in OSI PI and/or Citect and utilise this information to solve problems at the root cause.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong computer and data analysis skills with the ability to learn new systems & tools.Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to knowledge transfer and upskill others.Ability to prioritise workload and work both autonomously and as part of a highly collaborative team.Experience managing multiple stakeholders at all levels of the business.
